The 49th annual Jeep Easter Safari will take place this year from 3/28-4/5. Chrysler and the Jeep brand have created a total of 7 new concept vehicles for this year’s event. All Jeep concept feature vehicles feature Jeep accessories and performance parts from Mopar. Jeep was nice enough to share a couple of quick teaser images from the vehicles. The Red Rock Responder Jeep Wrangler can be seen above. And the Jeep Chief sneak peek is in the picture below. We’ll have to use our imaginations until next week when Chrysler releases the official pictures of all 7 vehicles.

Jeep Wrangler Replacement Windows

March 27, 2014

About 10-12 years ago my cousin packed up his Jeep Wrangler and moved from the country to the “big” city of Boston, MA. Within a couple of weeks, some hooligans in downtown Beantown had sliced open one of his soft top windows and stolen his GPS, satellite radio (keep in mind this was back when they were all separate units), and his cell phone which he had naively left out in plain view on the front seat. They also removed his spare tire and wheel from his Wrangler and taken off with that too. When he woke up the next morning he was rightfully upset, even though someone had been nice enough to leave him a handwritten note telling him they could get him a new spare if he wanted one. Wicked awesome.

Why am I telling you this story? Well for starters, don’t be dumb like my cousin. Two, this happens a lot. People may slice your soft top windows, they may get destroyed on a trail, or wear out over time. I even spoke to someone recently who just left hers open for the Winter, it froze, and cracked.  Here’s the kicker, you walk into a dealer and ask for one single window? That’ll be (at least) $300 for a new one. At JeepWorld, we can offer a couple of options that make a little more economic sense. A lot of dealers won’t offer you this, but Mopar makes a kit that includes 3 Jeep Wrangler replacement soft top windows for about the same price as the single window would cost you. Each kit includes both rear quarter windows and a rear window made to color match your factory soft top. Another great option that works out to be a deal is replacing the entire soft top fabric with a replacement soft top fabric kit by Rugged Ridge. For just a little more than the price of a single window, you get an entire soft top fabric replacement that installs over existing soft top factory frame. (See instructions: http://www.jeepworld.com/accessories/instructions/omixada/13730_35_ifu.pdf ).

What about that spare tire problem? That was an easy one that could have been prevented with a set of Jeep Wrangler Wheel Locks. A single locking lugnut and a little common sense will save you a lot of headaches. Here’s hoping my cousin is a little more street smart these days.

Jeep Floor Mats

Jeep Floor Mats

A look at my own Jeep Floor Mats as of this morning. Better to have snow & mud in your mats rather than ground into your carpet.

Winter weather is in full swing across much of the US! Now is the time to make sure the interior of your Jeep is protected from the elements with a set of Jeep Floor Mats. If you live in a place that gets cruddy weather, like me, then it’s a good idea to get a rugged set of all-weather Floor Mats for your Jeep as soon as possible. Why do you need a set of Jeep Floor Mats? The answer is simple. Bad weather, outdoors/active lifestyles, or families on the go can use these mats as a layer of protection to your interior and extend the life of your Jeep. Get enough mud, slush, water or snow on your vehicle’s floor and you’re headed for a world of bad smells and carpet stains. The same goes for those of us who drive with kids, but add in some sour milk and ground up snacks for good measure. Yuck. even commuters who like to drink coffee or snack behind the wheel. A good set of Jeep Floor Mats will catch your spilled coffee or dropped food bits. Floor Mats also add a layer between your feet and the Jeep’s floor, making those worn spots on a floor mat instead of permanently wearing out your floors with your boot heels.

SEMA 2013: Jeep Wrangler named ‘Hottest 4×4-SUV’ 4 Years Running

November 6, 2013

November 5, 2013 , Las Vegas – The Jeep® Wrangler was recognized as the “Hottest 4×4-SUV” for a fourth consecutive year at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas. The SEMA Award recognizes vehicle models that specialty equipment manufacturers believe are the best platforms for accessorization and that showcase the year’s coolest products.

SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting presented the award to Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“Consumers are increasingly interested in customizing vehicles, so having an accessory-friendly platform is important,” said Kersting. “The Jeep Wrangler has consistently ranked Number One as the Hottest 4×4-SUV since the inception of the SEMA Award, a clear reflection of its versatility.”

“It’s amazing to have the Jeep Wrangler recognized for a fourth straight year by SEMA with this award,” Gorlier said. “The Wrangler is our most accessorized vehicle and to see it consistently winning accolades is a demonstration of the quality of the vehicle and the work that Mopar has put in to develop accessories and quality Jeep Performance Parts. Enthusiasts will be happy to know we have just added new offerings to our more than 300 performance parts and accessories already available for this vehicle to provide even more options for customization.”

Mopar and Jeep recently created Jeep Performance Parts as a portfolio of high-end, hard-core Jeep parts including axles, lift kits, bumpers, winches, skid plates and suspension components. These performance parts will offer factory-engineered solutions to increase off-road performance.

Tips for Holiday Travel in your Jeep

May 20, 2013

If you’re like a lot of Jeepers out there, you’ll be embarking on a Summer Road Trip sometime in the very near future. If you’re a Jeeper like ME, then you’ll also be headed to a Summer Fun destination with a Jeep full of kids, dogs, and gear. Here are some some of our favorite tips for making those Jeep road trips as pain-free and comfortable as possible.

1. Give you and your family as much interior space inside your Jeep as possible.

In other words, don’t pile up so much stuff that it’s blocking the view from your rear view mirror or falling over onto your passengers every time you turn a corner or hit the brakes. Use a soft luggage carrier to haul some extra “stuff” on the roof of your Jeep. A hitch-mounted cargo rack is another great way to your gear to your destination (instead of inside your vehicle). Bringing bikes? The Thule Spare Me Jeep Bike Rack is a great option for carrying your bicycle/s on the spare tire of your Jeep.

2. Keep your interiors protected and easy to clean.

The mess that a road trip with family, kids, and/or pets often makes off-roading in deep mud or fording streams, rocks, and logs look like a cake walk. Have you ever tried to get smashed cheerios, dog hair, or the smell of old milk out of your Jeep’s interior carpets? Ugh. Make sure you floors are protected to minimize the damage with a set of all-weather Jeep Floor Mats. Throw in a cargo tray for the trunk area of your Jeep and you’ll at least have a fighting chance against dog slobber, melted ice cream cones, spilled coffee, and the like. We know it’s a Jeep and that Jeeps are meant to get dirty, but a little investment now will save you a lot of aggravation after you get home.

3. Keep your pets comfortable and safe.

Travel can be extremely stressful on your dogs. Try to make life as comfortable as possible for them by adding a Jeep Dog Bed to the trunk area of your vehicle and stopping for plenty of water, bathroom, and exercise breaks. Please remember to keep your furry friend on a Jeep Dog Leash at any time they’re outside of your vehicle. A Jeep Dog Barrier will help contain your dog/s to the rear area of your vehicle and away from your Jeep’s seats and you to help alleviate distracted driving. Dog Barrier’s will also help protect passengers in the event (god forbid) there is a traffic accident. Barriers are available in a cage version (see link above) or a Soft Barrier Net for the Jeep Wrangler specifically.

4. Have Fun!

If the weather is nice, get that top down/off and enjoy the beautiful weather. See the sights, smells the smells, and enjoy the sun on your face and the wind in your hair. Don’t be afraid to bring along some great music and sing along. Hope you have a great trip. Enjoy!

2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited

February 25, 2013

Chrysler recently announced that they are bringing back the Jeep Cherokee, but in name only. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be the replacement for the Jeep Liberty. Rugged isn’t the first thing that springs to mind when we see these pics. What do you think?
